Sunday - Rainy and cold

I wish I could say that today was a good day, but it wasn’t. F was up before me and was downstairs making food for his mother. I slept a bit long, but I was tired and we went to bed very late last night again.

When I got up, I dressed and wanted to hear what F wanted to do. He came upstairs and threw himself on the bed. A little later he wanted to leave for lunch. It was earlier than normal and he hadn’t said a word about where we should go. I was okay with leaving, but where to? All of a sudden he announced he wasn’t going anywhere as it was too late. I asked him what for? I left him alone for a few minutes and then he announced that he was leaving and if I wanted a ride somewhere he’d drop me off. I said yes.

He ended up dropping me off at the Indian restaurant. I went in and had an okay lunch. I had two naans today and it was a bit much. Sometimes when I go with other people I share a second naan and that’s about the right amount for me.

After lunch, I did a quick tour of the nearby grocery store and then I headed off to S-Mall. I walked there and tried to play a bit of my latest game on my phone. It didn’t really work.

At the mall, I went upstairs and was going to take a seat to text F when a woman came up to me and asked me if I was Helen. I said yes and we had a conversation. It turned out that she was one of my students at “L’Eikaiwa”, about 20 years ago. She had gone to Canada and studied English and had been a teacher of English in a nearby town too. She had two young boys with her as well. I wasn’t sure which class she was in, I think I know, but I can’t be sure. It was nice to know that I had a good influence on someone’s life!

I sent F a text and told him I was in the mall. After that, I went over to Daiso and had a look around. I checked my phone and F had written that he was in S-Mall too. I texted him that I was in Daiso and asked if I should join him.  I looked at something in the shop and then realized that F was behind me. He’d done that thing where he showed up but didn’t say anything.

He bought a few things and then we went downstairs and had a drink in Doutor. After that, we came back to the house. F headed back to bed and snoozed for a bit. I woke him up at 4 pm and reminded him that he should leave soon to go and have his massage. He left and after he did, I put my pyjamas back on and got into bed. I woke up when F came back an hour or so later. He got into bed too and we both slept for a couple of hours.

I woke up around 7 pm and suggested we go to the grocery store and to get dinner. F stayed in bed and fell back asleep.  I finally woke him up just before 9 pm.

F got up and we went out. I suggested a quick meal at Gusto and then a trip to the grocery store. F was okay with that, he doesn’t like Gusto, but it was open and nearby…

Dinner was okay. I had chicken, F had raw tuna and we shared a dish of spinach and bacon. That was nice. We both had drink bar and F had rice and soup too. We closed out the restaurant!

We headed over to MaxValu and picked up a few things for dinner for the next couple of days. I’m going to be using my air fryer a lot I think! The total of the groceries was horrendous, but that was down to F buying some mochi decorations and some booze for himself.

We came back to the house and put away the groceries and then came upstairs.

I just feel that this whole weekend was a waste. I wanted to go over to the mall and buy F’s Christmas present, but he was being a brat this weekend. He also asked me about going away for Christmas night and I really don’t want to! He wants to go to a ryokan, but I haven’t slept on a futon in years, I don’t like it and what’s worse, I have no good memories of a stay in a ryokan with him. So….I’m rather hoping that he doesn’t pursue this idea.

The wind is wuthering around the house now and it is supposed to start snowing during the night and keep snowing all day. Oh, dear. I hope it doesn’t get too bad here.

Oh, before I forget, here’s today’s Advent Calendar picture. Which new building is it?

December 12th's picture.

Come back later if you like and hear all about my Monday. Until tomorrow….

I am far too old for futon now. Sleeping on the floor on a thin pad isn't for someone getting ready to knock on the door of 60. :-p

I so agree! Not sure about the knocking on 60 part, but F is already there... ;-)
