Monday - Warmish, with snow

I woke up quite early this morning, made a trip downstairs and then went back to sleep. The next time I woke up my alarm was going off and it was late. Oops. Except I didn’t care!

I made a trip downstairs and F and K were having something to eat at the living room table, so I went back upstairs. A little while later, I went downstairs again and grabbed my late breakfast. Yum. I have missed my yogurt and cereal breakfasts.

F came up to tell me that he was going to take his mother off to the onsen. I was fine with that. I would enjoy having a bit of quiet time to myself.

They left, I got dressed and relaxed with a computer game or two. I watched a bit of YouTube as well. Yay me.

When they came back, I suggested that F and I go out for my lunch, or we could just go to Starbucks and I’d grab a sandwich to last until dinner time. F didn’t want to do that, so the two of us went to Gusto for an okay but not great late lunch. We both had chicken, but different types. We shared some fries and had drink bar.

Although I really did want to go for coffee, I suggested getting our groceries. It was getting late and K should eat fairly soon. We got the groceries and a nice bento for her, then went to the gas station for some kerosene and gas for the car.

We came back to the house and I unpacked the groceries while F brought in the kerosene. With us being in the room so much we have really used a lot over the last couple of days. We took a little bit of time for F to give his mother her bento plus a drink, before we went out again.

This time, we went to Starbucks and spent a bit of time there. I had their new houji-cha tea cream latte and it was lovely. I really enjoyed it. F had his usual Frappucino and liked it too. We were able to get good seats, and I really just enjoyed my time out of the house!

A bit after 7 I asked that we go to S-Mall. I wanted to go to the hundred yen shop and pick up a bit of yarn for the basket I’m planning. Finally, F got up off his bum and we left. Unfortunately, the mall was already closed. Oh no! They must have been on holiday hours or something today. Boo! I suggested going to the next closest Daiso, but when we got there, it was closed too. Double Boo!

Although F would probably have driven to another store if I had asked, I decided to not bother. It might be a sign that I have too much yarn (definitely) and I don’t need to buy more (not sure about that!)

We came back to the house and even though we had talked about dinner, didn’t have any. I went downstairs and prepared the garbage to go out. Tomorrow is the plastic bottles and the plastics day. I took down a bunch of bottles that I have been too lazy to deal with before and washed the ones that I had to and squashed and bagged the others. I also took down my old instant coffee jars, of which I had rather a lot in a bag, washed them, and got them ready to go out on Wednesday.

Around 10 pm F got ready to leave. He asked if I wanted dinner, he was thinking of picking something up on the way back. I suggested getting gyudon from the shop in the area of his massage place. He liked that idea, so agreed to bring some back with him.

He went off to get his massage and I played around on my computer for a bit before I remembered that I planned to take a shower. I went downstairs with my towel and was really surprised when I saw K in the dark. She never turns on lights for herself! She wanted to know about the outside light, but I told her that F was out so she was okay with it.

I took my shower and it was fine. The water heater seems to have got over its hissy fit. I’m wondering if we can wait to get the new hot water tank. Summer would be a much better time to install a new tank, rather than in deep snow and cold.

I went back upstairs to my computer and my warm room. It was a while before F came back, but he did, bringing two bowls of gyudon with him. Yay. We had a little feast in our room and it was nice. Gyudon is nice sometimes. The last time I had it in the store however, it was horrible. I’d put the raw egg they provided on it and yuck. It didn’t cook and the whole thing was slimy. I nearly threw up and have avoided the restaurant since. Maybe I just need to stay away from the type of bowl I had that day?

F finally went to bed after getting his stuff ready for tomorrow. It sounds like he is already asleep. I’m hoping to go to bed fairly soon too.

I have an exciting day of laundry and dinner prep tomorrow, with the possibility of rearranging my part of the room a little better. I also think I have to start working on my next Journal Column, but I need to check on that!

I think I’m done to be honest. Come back later if you like and hear all about my Tuesday. Until tomorrow….
