Tuesday - Snowy and cold
I woke up when my alarm went off this morning. It hadn’t gone off that early for the last week and a bit so I was surprised when it did. I went downstairs and then came back up and watched the news from the bed, under the covers because it was cold!
After the news, I watched the early morning news and then did a little snoozing. I noticed that F had texted me. He wanted to know about his mother and the snow! I hadn’t seen his mother and told him that, and ditto about the snow.
I went downstairs, checked out the snow and since the snowplough had gone through, I knew I had to go and shovel the snow. I went back upstairs, grabbed some laundry, started the laundry in the machine and then headed for the snow. I worked outside for about 45 minutes. At times there were little spicules of ice hitting me in the eyes. It was very nasty. I had to move a lot of the wall the snowplough had put up and it took a bit of effort. When my laundry timer went off, I was getting ready to go back in anyway.
I did another load of laundry too and hung it up upstairs. I grabbed some breakfast too. It was late, but it was also lovely to have breakfast again.
I stayed upstairs for a bit and then went downstairs for my lunch. I had preheated the kitchen a bit because it was darn cold! I came back upstairs and ate, and watched a bit of a movie on NHK. I can’t remember what movie it was, but it was one that I liked I think!
I watched the news and waited for F to call. He called a bit after 5:30. He was on his way back, but since the weather was bad would probably take his time. I was rather silly and didn’t go downstairs to start cooking for a while. I got down to the kitchen around 6 and then got busy. I made a green onion loaf from a recipe I saw on YouTube. I also did some chicken in the toaster oven and I fried some mushrooms with a recipe that I just found. I put things on the table and a lot of the food was devoured! All the bread was gone. I had used a whole loaf of French Bread. Next time I make it, I’ll use more onions and more cheese!
We had dessert tonight too. We finally started the fruitcake that we bought for Christmas and shared a small tub of ice cream between the three of us.
Dinner took a long time so I didn’t get started with the dishes for ages. That means that I didn’t finish for ages either. I listened to my podcasts and got everything clean and put away afterwards.
I came upstairs then did some computer stuff. F came up a bit later and we had a relaxing evening. I watched the first episode of Clarice. It was okay. I might watch the next episode or so…
That was my day basically. It was quite nice. F says that he’s going to take Thursday off if he can, so that he can take his mother to the doctor. I think that would be a good thing for him to do.
