Sunday - Warmer but rainy
I woke up this morning quite early today, somewhere before 8 am I think. I went back to sleep again. When I woke up a few hours later it was to an empty house. F and K had gone off to the onsen. I was glad for them.
I spent some time on my computer and after a little bit, F came back. We talked about where to go for lunch but didn’t come up with anything for a while. We finally decided on Jiro since F had suggested it yesterday.
We drove over there and were able to get in right away. I had their beef stew with butter rice and it was as nice as always. F had a new dish for us, the pilaf set. He got pilaf, miso soup and a salad.
After lunch, we went to the Chido Museum. We haven’t been for a while. It was really quiet there today, so it was nice for us to spend time there. The new exhibit was mostly screens or scrolls for rooms. I liked the screens, but the kanji in the scrolls don’t do much for me, unfortunately. After we finished there, we went and looked at the garden again. It’s my favourite place after all! It was under the snow of course and the pond was frozen over.
We went to Komeda Coffee after our museum visit and had some decaf. F should have had caffeine as he almost fell asleep. We were there for an hour or so and then hit up MaxValu for a bento for K and a few things for me and the house.
We came back to the house for a while. F got K up to eat her bento but she didn’t want it! He put it in the kitchen for her.
We spent some time upstairs before we went out and had another confab about where to go and what to eat. I suggested going to the local Korean restaurant. We’ve been avoiding it because the person working there doesn’t mask up. We decided to try it again and see how it was. Well, she still doesn’t mask up, but we did! We had a great meal. We each had bibinba, and then shared an order of chapchae and a chichimi. We also had some kimchi that we got from the restaurant. It was all really good, but quite spicy, which is what I wanted after all.
After our meal, we could barely move! We paid and left. F was pleased that the meal wasn’t overly expensive and so was I. We came back to the house and relaxed for a while.
F went to bed fairly soon. I watched some TV and then we had some trouble with our DVR. F helped me though and we think we got it fixed. It was weird, I was watching a movie and all of a sudden it froze. The film was on the cable channel, not on the DVR so it was strange!
And honestly, that’s about it for my day. It was quite nice. Tomorrow is a national holiday, so F will be around tomorrow too. We don’t have any plans, but I hope we’ll come up with something cool. Come back a bit later and find out.
Until tomorrow….
