Thursday - Warmer with a little snow

I woke up the first time when F left for work. It sounded like he might be a little late but I didn’t have time to ask him.

I got up a bit later, before my first alarm if you can believe it. I went downstairs and decided to check and see how much snow was outside. There was a bit, but it wasn’t too bad. I saw a plastic chamois holder in the snow outside and went out in my Crocs to get it. Of course, I got snow all over my socks and I had to take one of them off! I went upstairs and got dressed before getting back into bed. It was pretty cold this morning. I also had to fill up the heater since it was running on fumes last night. 

I relaxed for a while, had my breakfast and then I went outside and shovelled some snow. I did quite a bit but didn’t clear all the way down to the ground. It’s getting to the point that I don’t know where to put the snow anymore. My pile is so steep. I popped into the house to grab my glasses at the end and I saw K in the living room. I waved but I don’t think she saw me. 

I went down the road and grabbed a couple of drinks from a vending machine. I brought them back to the house and…K had already gone back to her room!  I went into her room and called her and gave her the choice of drink. She could have hot cocoa or a cafe-au-lait. She chose the cocoa.  She got up for a few minutes to drink it, I went upstairs and drank mine. 

I came downstairs around 2 and got my lunch. I had my usual things and enjoyed them. While I ate, I watched New Amsterdam from last night. It was a good one I think. 

I watched the news at 4 pm. It’s scary. Russia has basically invaded Ukraine. I hope that the leader comes to his senses, but I have my doubts that it will happen.

F called at 5:15 to say he was on his way. A bit later, I went downstairs to get started on dinner. Of course, I didn’t start soon enough. Tonight I made a “cream stew”, with a base of chicken and featuring a lot of potatoes, onions and a carrot. It turned out rather well and F and I had seconds. Actually, F had thirds, but who is counting?

Afterwards, I did the dishes and listened to a couple of podcasts. Dinner was late getting started so I didn’t finish the dishes until after 9. That’s a bit late for me. 

I took a shower just after 10 pm. It wasn’t particularly hot tonight, but at least it wasn’t freezing! I came back upstairs and watched The Rookie. It was the second part of the episode and happily, there was a mostly happy ending. 

A little later I turned off the TV. F and I shared some sunflower seeds that are coconut flavoured - yum. He’s gone to bed and is sleeping away. 

Tomorrow I’m making dinner again, but I also have to plan a class and finish up my paperwork for the last ones I did. I would also like to watch something off the DVR as I need the space!
