Wednesday - Sunny and warmish

This has been a day. It went rather as they usually do, but there was a twist! The planet decided that we needed a little shake right before midnight.  We had a fairly big earthquake and then a few minutes later, we had a bigger one. The epicentre was on the other side of the country, under the ocean so I didn’t feel the full force of it, but the second one was around a five on the Japanese scale here. That’s pretty darn big. It lasted for quite a while too.

We’re fine here. Most of my friends in Japan have checked in, I’m happy to say.

On with my day…

I woke up with my alarm this morning and got up right away. I watched the news and got dressed, then went back to bed and took a nap!

I went downstairs a bit later and grabbed my breakfast. I came back upstairs and ate. I watched a bit of YouTube too.

I had a quiet morning and afternoon. While I ate lunch I watched one of the Yellowstone episodes from last night. It was a good one. I watched the news at 4 pm then too. F called at 5:30 and I went downstairs soon afterwards to get a start on dinner.

Tonight I made a crustless quiche and it turned out really well. Along with that, I served a salad, leftovers from last night, hash brown patties and the nikuman that F hadn’t opened yet from the fridge. It was really nice, and I did get F to try a second piece of the quiche.

I did the dishes and listened to my podcasts tonight. After I finished the dishes, I sat in the kitchen and listened for a while. Then I got up and started taking care of the kitchen garbage. I did that up and put it in the genkan.

When I went upstairs, F was in bed. I told him about the garbage and asked if he’d be able to take it out in the morning. He did up his garbage in our room and then took our garbage downstairs and out to the station. Wow. I was worried he couldn’t do it as his knee is still giving him grief.

I took a shower and then watched New Amsterdam. Right on schedule, F started gabbing to me ten minutes before the end of the show. Grr.  And then the room started to move. Yikes. I had been trying to sort out my yarn for my latest project, but I put that on hold for tonight!

We’re fine and as I said, most of my friends have checked in so that’s good. We had a little aftershock a while ago, I hope we won’t have too many more.

So that’s it. Tomorrow I may get together with a friend if she’s still okay with that. I will probably be cooking dinner too. That should be exciting. You might want to come back later and see if we’re still here!  Until tomorrow….
