Wednesday - Sunny but still cool
I woke up early this morning but fell asleep again. When my alarm went off I was alone in the bedroom. I snoozed a bit longer and then got up. I watched the end of the news and then turned off the TV and took a nap. I overslept there too. I finally dragged myself out of bed and went downstairs and got some breakfast.
I had a quiet morning and afternoon. I watched the news and a bit later went down for my lunch. K was up in the afternoon which surprised me.
I had finished my lunch and my episode of Yellowstone when I heard the doorbell. I went downstairs and it was F’s sister. Now, unfortunately, she’d let herself in. I really didn’t like that. I did talk to F about it tonight, but he didn’t seem to be as upset about it as I was. Anyway, I didn’t stick around. She got her mother up and apparently took her out for a while. Good for K really.
I talked to F when he finished work. He went over to his doctor’s office but said he’d be back as soon as he could. He also told me that his sister had taken his mother out. Okay. Fine.
I went downstairs to get a start on dinner but realized that it wouldn’t take very long to do. I did my dishes from the day and then just hung out in the warmish kitchen. K got back first and I asked F’s sister if she needed dinner, but she said she didn’t and apologized to me. It was fine. I was happy that K got to have a day out with her daughter. I just wish I had known about it beforehand!
F finally got back around 7:30 so I got dinner underway. Tonight I made gapao rice and for the first time in my life, I poached eggs! I’ve never done that before. I’ve spent most of my life avoiding eggs as I don’t like them much, but I decided instead of frying the eggs for the gapao rice, I’d poach them. It worked okay. I should have got them out of the water a few seconds earlier, but they were still slightly liquidy in the middle.
F and I ate dinner, K didn’t eat, but she did have some tea with us. I got to do the clean-up as well. It wasn’t too bad really as there weren’t too many dishes tonight.
I did up the garbage in the kitchen and bathroom, then came upstairs and did my garbage in the bedroom. I suggested that F do his too. He started his and I asked him if he’d like me to take the bags out to the gomi station. He said yes, so I did. I had to wait for him to finish though, that was annoying!
I took the bags downstairs and then out to the station. It was already half full! There wasn’t pick-up on Monday so people had extra I think.
I came back into the house and F had the TV on in the room. He was watching skating. I was a little perturbed as I wanted to relax for a few minutes, but decided to let him watch. I went downstairs and took my shower. I spent a little extra time downstairs too.
When I came back up there were only a few minutes before my show started so I sat down, grabbed my crochet and waited for it to start. I got in an episode of New Amsterdam and was surprised to see it was written by Shaun Cassidy and another writer. I knew he produced the show, I didn’t know he wrote for it too. Cool. I got quite a few rounds of my basket done. I had frogged it yesterday because I wasn’t happy with the way it was developing, but this version is turning into a hexagon too. I don’t think it matters too much.
And that was my day. F has gone to bed and I’m still up of course. Tomorrow I must get a handle on my paperwork and write some emails as well.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
