Saturday - Rainy, cold, snowy
My alarms started going off this morning just before 10 am. I got up, F went downstairs and a little later I got dressed. A short time later F came back and asked if I’d like to go for lunch. Of course!
We ended up going to Kitchen Futaba just down the road. We were able to get seated right away. They’ve made the restaurant have fewer tables so that people can be safer in these pandemic times. I’m glad we didn’t dawdle this morning! We both had the quiche plate and it was lovely. Over lunch, F noticed that our favourite French restaurant was celebrating its 25th anniversary today. He wasn’t sure if they’d be open tonight or not, but he asked if I’d like to go if they were. Of course!
We were planning to go to the movie at 2:50 but it was quite early. I suggested going to Mosburger to try their new pistachio shake. F was up for that, so we went. Of course, it started to pour when we had to get out of the car! The milkshake was nice, F thought it was too sweet, but he’s like that!
We ended up at the Mall in Mikawa in time for a change! We got tickets and popcorn and went to see Uncharted with Tom Holland. I still like Tom Holland, the movie was fun but not exactly something I’m going to remember forever and ever. I’ve never played the video game that it was based on either.
After the movie, we came back to Tsuruoka and went to a bento shop. F bought K a nice bento for her dinner and we brought it back to the house and F got K up to eat.
F and I went out to Bistrot des Ponts in Mikawa and had a lovely meal. We both had the roast duck tonight, but the whole meal was amazing. I didn’t take pictures tonight, but we started with salad and sashimi, kabocha soup, roast duck with vegetables, a crusty bun for me, rice for F, and then coffee and dessert. I had chocolate cake and F had apple pie. It was a lovely meal. As we paid, the chef came and told me that it was their 25th anniversary and he gave us both a chocolate madeleine. F gave him some Japanese sweets that we had bought before our meal. The chef and his wife seemed pleased!
We came back to Tsuruoka and the house. I was a bit surprised that F was watching TV when I got upstairs, but apart from telling him that MY show was on at 11 and I would be watching it, left him alone. He said he wanted to watch the Paralympics, but he didn’t really.
I took a shower and then watched Resident Alien. It was quite a good one tonight. I’ve really been getting into this show. Good on WOWOW for carrying it!
And that was about it for my day. I watched a bit of YouTube when I finished the TV stuff. It was rather interesting tonight.
I’m not exactly sure what we’ll get up to tomorrow. In the afternoon F has to take his car in for its Shaken. He should pick up his glasses I think too. I’ll have to figure out what to cook for dinner for the next couple of days…wish me luck with that.
Come back later if you like and hear about my day. Until tomorrow….
