Sunday - Cold, snowy and cloudy

I slept in late this morning, but I think F did too. Both of us stayed up very late last night. He was up before me I think.

We talked about going for lunch or waiting until he took his car in for its Shaken, we decided to eat first. For the first time in ages, F suggested going to Foodever. We did and tried a new-to-us restaurant. I had avoided the very Japanese restaurant because I had heard it was really expensive. However, when we looked at the menu today, it really wasn’t. Oh, you could have really expensive things, of course, but you didn’t have to! F had grilled fish, which was nice but a little small. I had the tonkatsu teishoku which was good. I was quite full afterwards.

After we ate, I suggested heading to the garage a little early. We are usually late when we go there, so it would be a nice surprise for us and them!  We spent about an hour in the garage’s waiting room/lobby. They checked out the car, fixed things if necessary and then F paid and we were out of there.

I asked that we go to Yamaya. I wanted to see if they had any cheese. I picked a good day to go. They are ending their offer of having 3 packets of cheese for 1000 yen…after today! I got some gouda, emmenthal and more havarti. We picked up a few other things, but not a lot. Still, the bill was quite high afterwards. Oh, dear.

We got some groceries after this as well. I decided I’m going to make tacos tomorrow and probably a steam shabu-shabu again on Tuesday. I asked F if I could do it in the living room, but I’m not sure if that will work out. I’m still thinking about it.

We brought the groceries back to the house and then F and I had a bit of a relaxing time upstairs. K got up by herself and ate the bento that we brought her, that was good. A little bit later,  F suggested a restaurant and after we clarified which place he meant, we went there. He had chosen the Chinese-style restaurant in Kushibiki so we went there and both of us had the same thing! We had Mapo-dofu on yakisoba noodles. We shared an order of gyoza too.

On the way back to Tsuruoka, I suggested spending some time in a coffee shop, so we went to Komeda’s Coffee and had some decaf. It was nice to be out in public again.

We came back to the house and relaxed. I watched a bit of YouTube and a bit of Apple TV and did a bit of mending. Yay me.

F went to bed a while ago and I’m quite tired tonight, so I think I’ll go soon too. Not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow, you’ll have to come back and find out!  Until tomorrow….
