Thursday - Cloudy and cool, rainy at night
I went to bed quite late last night and overslept again this morning. I woke up quite surprised about what time it was and that my alarm was ringing. I must have snoozed it!
I went downstairs, watched the recorded news and then went down to make myself a slice of toast. I brought that back upstairs to eat. I got dressed after that and around 11:30 am I went downstairs.
K was up surprisingly, so just before I left I went to say goodbye. She told me to take care.
I walked to the bus stop. I was a little early and the bus was a little late so that worked out well. It’s better than the opposite! The bus wasn’t very busy happily, but it was warm. I took off my jacket and put it in my backpack. I got off at the train station stop.
I went into Foodever and checked out the food on offer. I didn’t really want anything there more than I wanted Indian food, so I left and walked up the street to the Indian restaurant. It wasn’t busy either so I had one of their usual lunch offers, the chicken curry. It wasn’t bad. I asked for medium spicy, but it wasn’t very spicy at all. The naan was good today though.
After lunch I visited the nearby drugstore and then walked downtown. I was going to make a deposit at the post office, but found out they’d charge me money at the ATM to do it. I didn’t know until later that I should have gone into the post office to make the deposit. It would have been free!
From the post office, I walked over to S-Mall and had a little walk around the shops. I didn’t go into the hundred yen shop or the grocery store today. I went and bought my bus tickets for my trip in a couple of weeks. Soon after that, it was time to leave to go to my hair appointment.
My hairdresser did her usual great job on my hair and I walked out of her salon feeling amazing! It was spitting rain a little as I walked back to the mall.
I went upstairs and grabbed a seat for a while. I was reading something on my phone when I heard my name being called. It was F’s sister and her husband. We tried to chat for a few minutes but I completely forget that I could use my phone to communicate with them! Ack.
I had some ice cream at Baskin Robbins then went for a drink at Doutor. F called to say he was finished work and I asked him if he’d like to join me. He said no, so I told him if he called me when he arrived, I’d come out to the car. He called and I joined him in the car.
We went to pick up dinner. F has been Jonesing for a raw fish bento from this place the whole week, so finally we were able to go. I had an avocado and maguro bento. It was pretty good. It had a few shrimps in it too. F had some maguro and ikura. We got a saba bento for K
When we got back to the house I discovered that K hadn’t eaten much of the food we got her yesterday, but she had opened yet another can of fish. Honestly. Why not eat the nice stuff that is perishable?I don’t understand, but whatever.
We ate and guess who got to do the clean up?If you guessed me, no prizes here. It was of course. I decided not to dry the dishes though!
I needed to pick up a few things from the grocery store so we headed out. I got F to take me to Mina. It’s fairly close and a big store. He stayed in the car and I went in. I got a few things and then paid. I went out to the car and it was raining. I half expected F to come and get me at the door like he usually does, but he didn’t. Then when I got in the car he had the nerve to tell me he tried to pick me up at the door. Huh? You didn’t move the car at all.
Came back to the house and put the groceries away. We went upstairs too. I put the news from the afternoon on and watched that. At 11 pm I watched The Rookie which was okay.
F went to bed fairly early and fell asleep. I’m still up, but will go to bed soon. I’m quite tired. I walked all over Tsuruoka today. I’ve had one of the highest step counts for today that I’ve had in ages.
Tomorrow I’m back on cooking dinner mode. I hope to get a little bit of something done up here as well. Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
