Monday - Cloudy and rainy all-day
I woke up before my alarms today but went back to sleep. When my first alarm went off, I got up and then got dressed. F announced that he was going to take his mother off to the onsen. I wished him well and suggested that he not get angry with his mother if she took a long time!
I stayed back at the house and unpacked a little from my suitcase. I really won’t be wearing some of the clothes that I packed, so why should I take them? I keep hoping I will, but realistically I won’t! It closed a little easier after I did that. Whew!
F and his mother came back to the house a little bit after 12. We were supposed to go and have lunch before his massage but it didn’t really give us enough time to do that. I asked him if I should eat while I was in the mall or if he’d like to wait until after. He told me he didn’t care.
We drove off to S-Mall. There was a traffic guard directing people who were parking, but he wouldn’t let F go by. F wasn’t planning on parking, he wanted to let me off near the door as it was raining. I got out of the car and said a few rude things out loud. I doubt the guy even heard me but honestly. People get picked up and let off at the door all the time there.
I went into the mall and had my lunch. I went to Pizza Hut Express and had carbonara. It came with a mini pizza and a drink. It was nice.
When I finished eating I did a little shopping. I went to the grocery store and did a little look-through, then I hit up the hundred yen shop upstairs. I got a few things at the shop and then I headed downstairs. It was nearly F’s finishing time so I thought I’d go to Doutor and wait for him. Sadly, it was busy. There weren’t very many open seats and I didn’t feel like going in. I actually went to the door to wait for F. While I was there someone came up to me and seemed to know me, but she was connected to F somehow. I have no idea who she was!
Finally, F showed up. He asked if I had eaten and of course I had. He hadn’t and was hungry though. Now became the amusing thing where we drove all over Tsuruoka trying to find an open cafe or restaurant that F could go to. They were all closed! Finally, F asked about a place that I’d gone to with a friend a few months ago. I directed him there. It was open and we even got a parking spot.
We went in. It’s a little expensive but a nice restaurant and it was easy to relax there today. F had avocado toast and coffee, and I just had coffee. I was going to have dessert, but somehow I didn’t.
After F’s snack, we went to the grocery store and bought groceries for the next couple of days. I’m going to do hamburgers tomorrow and chicken on Wednesday.
We came back to the house and F prepared some dinner for K. Basically he had bought her some sashimi and put that with rice for her. I went upstairs.
We relaxed for a while and talked about where to go for dinner. I didn’t really care that much as I wasn’t hungry yet.
Around 7 pm I remembered that we had to take my suitcase to the delivery service so that I don’t have to take it on the train with me on Friday. I suggested to F that since we were going to be in the area, we could hit up the small Chinese-style restaurant near the delivery service’s office. He liked that idea!
We drove off and I sent off my suitcase. Yay! I’m a little excited and a lot worried that I didn’t pack the right things!
We went to the restaurant and got the last table. They only have two tables with chairs. There are tatami tables too, but they are hard for F right now, and I don’t like them! We had variations of the same thing. I had mabo-dofu and F had mabo-dofu with a small ramen and other dishes. It was really nice. I don’t eat it all the time, but I enjoyed it today.
F was all set to come back to the house afterwards, but I suggested going for a coffee. I just didn’t want to go back yet. He was okay with it and we went to Komeda Coffee. We had a nice time. It was quiet inside and we got a corner seat, ordered decaf coffee and just vegged for a while.
We came back to the house when we finished and came upstairs. I watched a couple of shows off the Fire Stick, Wolf Like Me on Amazon and one off AppleTV+. That last one was Bad Sisters. I think I’ll enjoy that one. It’s rather interesting so far.
And that’s about it for today. It was a pretty good day, even though the weather wasn’t great. I enjoyed the weekend with F, it’s nice to be able to say that again.
