Monday - Sunny but cool. Thunder at night

I went to bed rather early last night. I was in bed around 1:30 and turned off my phone just after 2 am. That’s very early for me!

I slept really well, but woke up early, had to make a trip downstairs and then went back to sleep again. I woke up late for my alarms. I basically ignored them until after 9 am. I got up, made another trip downstairs and then watched some news from the bed. I was really surprised a few minutes later when F walked into the room! He didn’t say too much to me.

After he left, I snoozed a little longer and then got up. I felt much better today, so the long sleep I got must have been needed.

I got dressed and had breakfast and then went downstairs around 11:30. I got started on my stew. I made a hamburger stew, but I changed my recipe a bit from last time. I left out the canned tomatoes in the recipe. I’m sensitive to tomatoes so didn’t want to have any. I cut up a bunch of veggies and I even parboiled a lot of them. They all went in my slow cooker and after a lot of work, I set it and left it for later.

I went back to the room and relaxed for a bit. I went downstairs later and grabbed my lunch. While I ate it, I watched an episode of Killing Eve. It was great. I get a big kick out of the show.

I watched the news later and enjoyed the lovely smell coming from downstairs. My stew smelled gorgeous!

I was surprised around 5:30 when F FaceTimed me. He was calling from the store that sells Christmas Trees. He was wondering if he should buy me the tree that I decided I wanted. I had planned to pay for it myself, but he did. Anyway, I told him to go ahead and buy it. It isn’t too expensive so if it is horrible, I could always junk it/give it away and get a better one.

I went downstairs soon after and got some dishes done and also started to prepare things for dinner. Tonight was just a simple one, the stew with rice and a salad. It was pretty good. The stew got good reviews so that made me happy.

I washed the dishes and then came upstairs.  After a little bit, I took a shower. I came upstairs and tried out another new-to-me show on my Fire Stick. It was Truth Seekers. It was a comedy about the paranormal and it was fun. I’ll probably watch more.

And that’s about it for today. It was a pretty good day.  I’m happy that I finally have a Christmas tree, but I’ll probably wait until December set it up.

Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….

That was nice of your hubby to stop and get that tree! Hopefully it is a good one so you won't have to go through another tree hunt next year! The quality of artificial trees here in the U.S. seems to have gone down, though the price has gone up, of course. We haven't had a tree in almost 20 years, but I'm thinking we may also put one up this year. (My SIL had hers up on Nov. 1--lol) Can't wait to see a pic of your shiny new ornaments!

It was a nice surprise for him to go and get the tree for me. He isn't great at doing things without a lot of hinting, so I appreciated it a lot.

We haven't done a tree either in ages, but I've been in a Christmas craft ornament exchange for a few years now and I have been given some lovely ones that I'd like to show off. I've made a few extras for myself over the years too, so I'd really like to put them up.

I'll probably wait until December to put up the tree as November feels a bit early for me! We don't have snow yet or anything either.

Thanks for visiting as always!
