Monday - Colder and rainy

I woke up this morning reasonably early. I went downstairs and then got dressed. I watched the news and F called his work. He tried to get the day off, but was only able to get half a day off, the first half.

His brother-in-law was due to come over with a plumber at 9 am to check out our fancy Japanese toilet. The heater in the seat isn’t working and the room is hella cold at the moment. The consensus is that they have to come back. 

I think I went back to bed for a while and F did too. We snoozed for a bit, but I had to get up a while later.

F went off to work around noon and I came back upstairs. I spent a quiet afternoon for the most part. I grabbed my lunch and ate while watching more Bake-Off. It was great. 

I watched the news at 4 pm and then went downstairs to start dinner a little before 6 pm. Tonight was a simple one. I just did baked chicken with roasted veggies, some salad, beets and the last basil onion cake. It had been broken in the freezer, so it was in pieces anyway. This way I got it out of the freezer, so that was good. 

Dinner was good and then I cleaned up afterwards. I managed to get the dishes done fairly quickly for a change. F came in to say that his brother-in-law will be back tomorrow around 1 pm with someone to try and fix the toilet. Yay.

We came upstairs and relaxed. I watched a bunch of YouTube and then put on the last episode of Good Omens. That was funny. I enjoyed that series. 

F went to bed a little after midnight, I’m still up. I hope to go fairly soon. 

I did have one great thing happen today though. I received a Christmas Card from an exchange I’m in and I got a couple of Christmas ornaments from that exchange that I’m in. Woot.  The ornaments are lovely. They are worked in metal, one’s an antique spoon handle, the other is brass. It was a lovely box to receive this morning. 

The leaf says "dream BIG, shine BRIGHT" which is rather nice.

Well, that’s it. My day. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either. Hopefully, F won’t have to do all that extra work on the weekend, fingers crossed.
