Sunday - Warmish and sunny

I actually woke up before my alarms went off this morning. I went downstairs and then came back upstairs to get dressed and checked my email and other net-related things. Around 10:20 I asked F if he was going to get up. He still had to take a shower and make his mother brunch! He grumbled a bit but did get up and went off to do stuff.

F dropped me off at the mall and I did a little bit of shopping. I went to the hundred yen shop and didn’t buy yarn today. I bought a bunch of envelopes though. I also had a chat with a lady from the English school in the mall. It was nice to talk to her, but I don’t think I’d ever met her before. 

When the time was up I looked outside and saw the car, but couldn’t see F. He phoned me and said that he was in the mall near the coffee shop. I didn’t go to the coffee shop today! The poor thing walked all that way and he didn’t have to.

We got in the car and we drove off to Amarume. We went to the Yakiniku restaurant and had a lovely meal. We both had the same thing, the lunch special and a drink.  It was very nice and we both enjoyed it.  

After lunch, we went over to the little farmer’s shop and I bought a few veggies for the house. We went back to the car and started back to Tsuruoka, I thought!

A few minutes later I asked F if we could stop at a vending machine as I was very thirsty. We did stop at one and I got us drinks.  F then decided that he wanted to drive along the coast, so we did for a while. It was lovely. We didn’t stop, F’s knees aren’t really up to it and I was wearing my new shoes, so I didn’t want them full of sand.

We came back to Tsuruoka and we did the grocery shopping. I got enough food for the next couple of days I think. We also picked up a bento for K’s dinner.

We went back to the house and I got to put everything away again. I left K’s bento on the table for her and took everything else that we didn’t need upstairs. F and I relaxed for a while and then a bit after 7 pm decided to go for our dinner.

We discovered on the way out that K hadn’t eaten her bento. I asked F if he wanted me to wake her up and give it to her, but he said he’d do it. He tried, but she didn’t want it. Sigh.

We went off to Cocos and had a pretty good meal. I had a burger in a cream sauce and F and I shared an order of fries. They also had their White Day dessert on special so we shared that too. F had fish for dinner but he didn’t like it that much. Same as usual. He listened to TikTok all through dinner. He also listened to it on the way to the restaurant. He had gone back to the house when we were leaving for the restaurant and I had changed the channel. He spent almost the entire drive to the restaurant trying to set TikTok up again on the car stereo. I was rather upset since he isn’t supposed to do that, and wasn’t paying as much attention as he should to the road.

As we left the restaurant F decided he needed to visit a drugstore, so we went to one on the other side of Komagihara park. We both picked up a few things and then came back to the house.

We relaxed upstairs. I watched a couple of shows off the Fire Stick. I watched another episode of The Rig and also another episode of The Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy. I made another ball of yarn and then did a couple of rows of crochet. My blanket is growing and I just love it!

That’s about it for today. Tomorrow morning the Academy Awards are on and I’ll be there. I’ve seen a few of the nominated films, but not all of them, unfortunately. I hope it’ll be a good, but uneventful show!
