Saturday - Cold and snowy
I woke up this morning when my alarm went off. F had woken me up a little earlier, but I managed to go back to sleep. I finally dragged myself out of bed before 11 and then took care of a personal thing.
I came upstairs and got dressed. F had asked if I wanted to go for lunch earlier and I said I needed a few minutes. Well, a few minutes turned into a lot of minutes. Finally, I went downstairs to see if F wanted to go out. He’d been waiting for me to come back down. Eye roll. Still, we decided to go out for lunch. I listed a few places we could try and F was okay with some of them. We tried the first one, but it had closed already, so F suggested the Grand El Sun. That’s where we went.
At the Grand El Sun, we both had the same thing, the meat lunch. We had a buffet salad/starter thing that was very nice, then some non-tomato minestrone soup, focaccia and our pork. There was also a drink bar where we could help ourselves to drinks. We got one refill of focaccia too. It was all good. We had a lovely meal. It wasn’t cheap, but it was good.
After lunch, we talked about going to the aquarium, but F changed his mind. We decided to go to the Chido Museum and we renewed my membership. F gave me the membership, and I can take one person in with me for free. I occasionally take a friend in, but of course, it is usually F that comes with me.
We went into the museum and went through a couple of the buildings. We visited the Hina Dolls exhibit, which was great, and then the Exhibition Hall. They had local things set up with a quiz. Now, of course, it was all in Japanese, which was a bit of a shame, but I understand! We left the museum and headed to S-Mall.
At S-Mall, we parked and went in. I bought F a coffee and I had a sakura latte. It was nice, a little sweet, but not too bad really. I left F where he was and went upstairs to get a few things at the hundred-yen shop. After that, I met him again at Doutor. He finished his second coffee and then we went to look at the grocery store to see if we could get K a nice dinner. F picked out a few things for her.
We came back to the house and F gave his mother some food. I went upstairs and waited for him, but he didn’t come upstairs or call me. Grr. I went downstairs around 6:40 and asked him if he was okay to go. He had a bit of an upset stomach again, but said he’d go.
We drove out of Mikawa. The driving wasn’t great. There was some snow coming down, it was a lot like hail at first…literal balls of snow coming down. We got to the mall, went in, bought our tickets which was rather a hassle tonight, and then went for our dinner. I had told F that I’d like bibinba so he had to have it too! Tonight we had the same one, pork kimchi. We got our free drinks (by showing our movie tickets) and then we got our food.
The bibinba was good and then it was time to go and see our movie. I sent F in first and I bought the popcorn and drinks. We went to see Argylle and we both enjoyed it. It was really funny! It was quite silly too, but I’m always in the mood for a good laugh, so it just worked for me.
We came back to Tsuruoka after the movie and we went to MaxValu. F wanted to pick up a few things so I went in with him. I got some sandwich meat for next week and F got himself some alcohol and also something for his mother’s brunch tomorrow.
Back at the house, we both relaxed with our mutual computers and a little while ago F went to bed. I should get there soon too.
I’m not sure what we’ll be doing on Sunday. Winter is back, and it might snow a bit more tomorrow. Sigh.
Come back later if you like and hear about my day. Until tomorrow….
