Friday - Sunny and hot
I’m back! We had a lovely time staying at the hotel in Sakata yesterday. We had a small room, but rather than get upset that we were tripping over each other’s feet, it was nice to be close to each other. We watched a movie on the TV…I managed to get my Prime account to work. It was good. We ate in a lovely French restaurant in the hotel and then we went out for a walk and ended up in an izakaya and had more food. We were quite stuffed!
We checked out this morning. We got up and had breakfast around 8:30. The hotel’s breakfast was delicious and they had a lot of options. F and I were both happy with it. He even had ramen made for him this morning!
We checked out of the hotel at 11 am and went over to the Aeon Mall in Sakata. I went clothes shopping and found myself a nice summery shirt. It’s a cotton long-sleeved shirt and I think it’ll be comfortable. I just hope I don’t have to iron it every time I want to wear it! Sadly, the Mr. Donuts was closed for renovations, so we just got back in the car and went to the Mikawa Mall.
We visited Doutors in the mall and had a drink each. Then, we went to the hardware store near the mall and split up to look at different things. I looked at pots but didn’t buy one, F looked at plants for his fish tank.
We came back to Tsuruoka and had lunch at Cocos. I had a salad with chicken and nuts which was lovely, F had some fish on rice and we shared an order of fries. We also had drink bar and that was nice. Cocos has the best drink bar! They even have decaf coffee drinks.
We came back to the house after that. F was busy with his mother for a while, so I went upstairs and caught up on my computer stuff. After I while, I went over to the bed and finished my book on my phone. It was a pretty well-written fantasy-type novel about bear-shifters. I don’t always read classic books!
After a bit, F and I talked about dinner. I suggested going to a gyudon shop later in the evening, and F suggested buying yakitori. I wasn’t sure if we’d still be able to do that as it was almost 7pm, but he phoned and ordered. He had to go and pick it up. He also got something for K’s dinner too, so that was good.
We had a fairly quiet evening. We had our yakitori and it was very good. F had a beer so we couldn’t go out after that. We just had a quiet evening in. After watching a bunch of YouTube, I turned on the TV and watched an episode of The Closer and then one of Dick Turpin on Apple. I’m still not sure about that one. It has moments, but it isn’t that funny. I’m not a huge Noel Fielding fan.
And that’s about it. F went to bed a bit after midnight. He has to get up early tomorrow to make breakfast for his mother and then he has to take her to the daycare.
I’m not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow. Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
