Saturday - Hot, humid and rainy too
I woke up this morning when F got up, but I fell back asleep again. He had a busy morning making breakfast for his mother and then driving her to her daycare. I slept quite late. Overnight I had used my fan not on me, but pushing air next to me. It was nice. This morning, when I really woke up, I realized that F had turned on the AC for me. That was nice. I slept quite late. I finally woke up and in a little while I got up. I took care of a personal chore downstairs and then I got dressed.
We decided what to do. We went for lunch first. F suggested a place (hurray!) and it was fine, but when we got there, they had finished serving lunch. In fact, their waitress was out in the parking lot turning people away! Oh dear. We ended up at Nagomi instead. It’s a Japanese soba/udon restaurant and they also do fish on rice and tempura too. The worker/owner told us that it was okay to order one of their specials since the last time we were there they had sold out! We did that. We had cold soba with a mini-keisendon and tempura. It was very nice and there wasn’t too much of anything which I was happy about.
We went to Cafe Studio Cinq for drinks after lunch. I told F today that as much as I like Komeda Coffee, when we go on Saturday it is too busy and we have to wait so long to be seated that we have no time to relax. He did agree with me, however, he wanted to go to Starbucks today and I chose Cafe Studio Cinq! We ended up going there and each had a nice drink. It was quiet and peaceful there and we could get seated right away. Bonus!
After our drink, we headed back to the house. I’m afraid that I took a nap. Quite a long one. F came upstairs and relaxed for a while too after his mother came back.
Around 5:30 I suggested that we get started. We needed to get his mother a bento for dinner and then we planned to go to a hardware store. F went off and got the bento for his mother and after that, we left the house. When F heard that I had planned to go to the hardware store and then go straight to the mall, he said we couldn’t go to the hardware store. Apparently, he wanted fish food and it was frozen, so he couldn’t leave it in the car. It was boiling today, so nobody would want that smell in the car!
We did drive out to the mall and we went into Seria. It’s a hundred yen shop. I got one item, a bag of tea bags for my loose tea. F got himself 2 things. I ribbed him a little afterwards that he bought more than I did for a change!
We went upstairs, bought our movie tickets….except we didn’t pay for them! We each had a free movie coupon so we used them. Then, we went over to the food court and ordered our bibinba. I tried a new kind, it was curry cheese, F had my usual, the pork-kimchi one. F added extra spice at the end and had to admit it was too spicy. Mine was good. They basically just added curry powder on top of a cheese bibinba. I mixed it all in and it was delicious.
We went over to the theatre before 8 pm and bought our popcorn and drinks and then went in when they finally opened our theatre. We did washroom trips and then settled in to see Ferrari. I quite enjoyed the film. It wasn’t the best ever and I can see why some people didn’t like it, but I thought it was well done. To be honest, in the end, something happened and I gasped out loud because it was horrific.
After the movie, we came back to the house and had a quiet evening in. I watched tonight’s episode of The Spencer Sisters. It was fine. It’s such a Canadian show though. It’s hard to explain why though!
And that’s about it. We had to use the air conditioner all day when we were at the house today. It’s so hot and humid and it isn’t cooling down at all at night. Bleck. It feels too early to be this hot. Obviously, global warming is rearing its nasty head.
Tomorrow we have a few ideas on how to spend the day. F made some suggestions, I did too, so that is hopeful for the day! Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
