Monday - Cloudy and then rainy

Some pictures from my day!

Got a bus into Sendai and did some shopping in the station.

I bought some smoked paprika and some tea from Lupicia in the station buildings.

My lunch at Aoba-Tei. Sendai's specialty is gyutan, or beef tongue. Here it is in a stew and grilled. The soup is Tail Soup.

This restaurant is one of my favourites in Sendai. I usually go with F, but he worked today in Tsuruoka. It was a tad expensive but I enjoyed it a lot.

I also bought some Christmas Cards at a huge stationary store and a book and a magazine at a bookstore with some English books. On my way to the bus stop, I bought an umbrella too as it started raining. It came in handy back in Yamagata. It was pouring when I got off the bus.

The place where I had dinner. This was my Otoshi appetizer. I actually liked it. It's deep-fried pasta with salt. The drink was oolong tea.

I didn't take pictures of the rest of the meal, but I had some fries, chicken-skin gyoza, and a bit of roasted chicken. It was very good. I'd never been to this place before, but it wasn't too busy and was just around the corner from the hotel. Very yum. Cheaper than lunch!

Until next time!

I've never heard of chicken skin gyoza before. Does that mean it's gyoza made with chicken skin instead of dough?

Yes, that's exactly it. The wrapper of the gyoza is chicken skin. It's actually quite yummy as they fry it so it gets crispy. Also, if you are low-carbing, it works for that diet! I did low-carb years ago so it was a nice treat for me.

Thanks for all of your comments!
