Tuesday - Cloudy then heavy rain at night

I went to bed a little early last night. Sad to say, F woke up a bit after I went to bed and said he didn’t get back to sleep.

I woke up this morning around 6:30. F was already gone. I went downstairs and then came back upstairs. I went back to bed and watched a few videos on my phone. I think that I fell asleep on one that was on a loop because when I woke up it was still on the same story!

I got up and dressed, then went downstairs to get my breakfast. I ate and checked what the afternoon movie would be on NHK today. It turned out to be Death Becomes Her with Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis. I had seen it before when it first came out and I didn’t like it. For years I have heard how funny it is and how it is a favourite movie for some people. Well, I rewatched it today and…I still don’t like it at all! I get that it is black humour, but I don’t particularly enjoy that. It was a big nope from me.

I grabbed my lunch a little early today and brought it upstairs. I decided to watch another episode of Bake-off. It was Danish week. The bakes looked difficult, except they made the Danish version of takoyaki (but filled with apples and cinnamon). I’ve made takoyaki once, it was fun but I didn’t use octopus, just some cold meat.

Also during the day I filled out my ballot for the Canadian election. I was thinking of going out tomorrow to mail it, but when I got it all put in the envelopes (Three of them!) I realized that the envelope is prepaid, or will be paid by Canada. I REALLY hope that Japan Post understands that it doesn’t need a stamp from Japan!

F came back to the house around 6 pm today. I was already downstairs in the kitchen and I was starting my dishes from the day. We had a nice reunion and then he went upstairs to rest.

Tonight for dinner I did a pork and nila thing, with some stir-fried onions and mushrooms, plus more of the potato and pasta salad and an actual salad. Most of the things disappeared, but I had enough leftover for my lunch as well as K’s.

I did the dishes and listened to more of my movie podcasts. They were good. I finally got the dishes done and went upstairs to change to go out. The rain came up while I was changing and it was loud.

I got soaked getting to the car and wasn’t too happy about it. I had to keep my envelope from getting wet too, so that was fun.

I got in the car and we drove to Mina. I went in and did a little shopping on behalf of F too. He wanted some snacks. No big deal. I got food for the next couple of days and a few staples that we needed. When I had left the car I took in a shopping bag. I wanted my nice big one my friend gave me, F gave me his little one. Ack. I told him it wasn’t big enough, but none of the good ones were in the car.  It wasn’t big enough! I had to use a bag from my purse too when I finished.

We came back to the house via the post office to mail my ballot. It’ll go out tomorrow around 11:30. I hope it has a fast trip back to Canada!

Back at the house, F “helped” me unpack by being annoying and giving me food that didn’t go in the same part of the fridge. He likes to take the bag far from the fridge, I generally park it outside the fridge and work from there! It’s much easier. Still, it got done.

Upstairs I watched a little YouTube before watching FBI: International at 11. It was another okay episode. It’s become a bit more like a regular detective show lately I feel.

And that’s about it. During my FBI show, some torrential rain came up. It’s actually quite cold in the room, even with the heater on.

Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
