Friday - Cold with a little snow
I went to bed late last night and didn’t have much luck getting to sleep for a while. However, I did fall asleep after a while and was surprised when I woke up with my morning alarm. F was up already, so I made my way downstairs and then back up to the room. I did go back to bed and fell asleep after watching a couple of videos.
F came in a bit after 11 and we said hi! I got up, ate my breakfast sandwich and then said I’d go for lunch if he wanted to do that. He went out for a bento for his mother and I got dressed while he was out.
We had our lunch at the Taiwanese restaurant again. Today we both had fried rice, mine was with pork, his was with kimchi. I wouldn’t have mine again, the meat was dry and a little tasteless. However, the soup was nice and the kara-age was very good.
We went over to Musashi to pick up some gloves for F. He didn’t have any when he was shovelling snow yesterday, so he needed some! We also picked up some detergent for the house. I use a liquid one, F and K use a powder.
Then, we headed out to the mall in Mikawa. The road was quite busy and traffic was a bit slow, but we made it. We found a good parking spot which was difficult as the mall was busy today.
First up, I hit up Seria, the hundred yen shop. I wanted some bags to put my loose tea in. F got himself a pair of reading glasses, not sure why. After our shopping, I suggested a cup of coffee so we went over to Doutor. We were really lucky as a table left as we went in, so F snagged it. I went in line and bought coffee for F and rooibos tea for me. We spent quite a bit of time there and I was a tad annoyed. I wanted to do some shopping…or at least window shopping.
Finally I got F roused and we decided to walk down the mall and then back to the cinema. As soon as we stood up, someone snagged our table! It was busy in the coffee shop.
We walked down the mall and I suggested to F that he look at boots. I noticed the other day that he has a rip in his rubber boots. He should get new ones. He couldn’t find any today, but he didn’t really look. We both ended up doing a toilet run and then it was time to walk back to the cinema. We bought our tickets and then some popcorn and drinks. We went to see A Working Man, the newest Jason Statham film. It wasn’t great, but it was Jason and that’s all I cared about! F didn’t really like it, he’s not into action movies, but I am! And I’m into Jason Statham, so….. I had fun, but I didn’t love the movie.
After the movie I suggested to F that we go over to Aeon and get some bentos for dinner at the grocery section. We drove over, again, found a great parking space, and went back in the mall.
F got himself and his mother fish bentos, I got myself some mushroom pasta and some grilled chicken for dinner. I thought about getting some salad, but remembered that we had salad leftover at the house. F got some eggs and stuff for K’s breakfast as well. We checked out, went back to the car and drove back to Tsuruoka and the house.
At the house, F made miso soup for his mother and himself (I didn’t want any) and I put the salad together. We set the table and then F got his mother up. We had a nice meal and I enjoyed my spaghetti and chicken. After we finished I did tell F off a little. Recently, he’s been giving his mother and himself salad. He’s very generous with the portions and there isn’t enough for me. Today, his mother’s salad bowl was rounded over and mine wasn’t even full. I’m the person that likes salad!! He’s being nice to her and she does eat it, I’m not upset about that, but he’s not letting me have as much as they are.
F washed the dishes in his usual weird way. I dried most of them, and put them away. Then, I headed upstairs and the room was very cold. I relaxed for a while and then decided that I’d check out the Fire Stick again. I went to the WOWOW site and checked out their programming. Sadly, the new show I was looking forward to is only available in Japanese there. Boo! I checked out other shows and thought I’d watch a preview of Evil. However, it wasn’t a preview, it was an episode, so I guess I’m going to watch that now. It looks quite good, in a spooky kind of way.
F came upstairs after 11. He’d been watching TV downstairs and enjoying himself there. He’s off to bed now and I think he’s sleeping.
Tomorrow morning, K is off to her Day Service again. I’m not sure what F and I will be doing in the meantime.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
