Wednesday - Cold and a bit snowy
I woke up this morning when F started moaning that his leg was cramping. He was up, getting ready for work and he got a bad cramp. He decided not to go to work today. I went downstairs and then came back to bed and went back to sleep. I slept a bit late and went downstairs. I slept on a bit, but did get up a bit earlier than usual.
F and his mother were eating in the living room and watching TV. I have no problems with that. I decided that I’d fill up the kerosene tank, which I did. After I brought it back upstairs, I went back downstairs to get my yogurt for upstairs. I was eating my breakfast when F came back upstairs and asked if I wanted to go out for lunch. I told him I didn’t, I was just eating my breakfast! I did ask if HE wanted to go out, but he said he didn’t.
I had a pretty quiet day. F spent a lot of the day downstairs and then when he did come back upstairs, he went to bed. He was complaining about the cold. Fair enough, our bed area is far from the heater and it takes a while to heat up.
I grabbed my lunch around 2:30 and brought it upstairs. I ate and watched Project Runway Season 21. To be honest, I’m not loving this season at all. They don’t announce who is “Auf’d” until the next show and the designers aren’t all that. I miss Tim Gunn! Heidi is back, and she’s okay, but the new judge…that stylist guy just seems bitchy at the moment!
I went downstairs around 6pm and got started on dinner. I washed dishes and then I began to do the prepwork. I cut up some cabbage for a side dish, and a little bit of the main dish, plus the chikuwa for the main dish. I also had to slice the meat into bite size pieces. After all of that, I started to cook. I made a stir-fry with konbu and pork and chikuwa. We had that with a steamed cabbage dish, potato salad, salad and rice.
I got it on the table a few minutes after 7pm. It was nice. F actually said that it was a good dinner and I didn’t have to ask him if he was enjoying it! Yay for me!
I did the dishes after dinner and while I was listening to my podcasts on my little speaker, the speaker’s battery ran down. Darn! I listened on my phone after that.
I did up the garbage and then did a bit of cleaning in the sink as well. I got F to help me put K’s garbage in the bag and then I closed the bag and put it in the genkan. I went upstairs after that.
I changed into my pyjamas upstairs and then relaxed with a few YouTube videos. Around 10:20 I started to get ready to go downstairs to take a shower. I talked to F and all of a sudden he gave me a weird look and said that he’d already turned off the water. What? It was only a bit after 10pm. And I wanted to take a shower. It’s cold here right now so he had turned the water off so it wouldn’t freeze. He didn’t think that I might want a shower.
I turned the water back on and took my shower. It was a bit chilly getting out of the shower though. After my shower, I did turn the water back off. I don’t want to worry about the water freezing overnight.
I came back upstairs and watched Wild Cards. It was obviously the last episode of the second season. I hope there’ll be more. It’s a silly show, but the leads are cute and it’s filmed in Vancouver, so what else could you ask for?
I had a quiet evening with some more YouTube videos. F went to sleep a while ago. I can hear the snowploughs out and about tonight. I hope that they don’t block our entry way too much or F will have a hard time getting out of the house to go to work. I hope he goes to work tomorrow!
Well, that’s it for me for today. Tomorrow I hope to work on a craft project, maybe have a look at my latest column that I need to start soon and who knows
