Thursday - Snowy and cold
I woke up this morning because of my alarm. It was amazing! The first time I’ve woken up like that this week I think. I got up, went downstairs, checked out how much snow was outside and decided to go back to bed for a while!
I woke up later and got up. I dressed and then went downstairs. I put on my coat and hat, tied up my boots and went out to shovel some snow. I worked for 30 or 40 minutes I think and got most of it cleared away. I went back into the house and made my breakfast. I ate upstairs and relaxed for a while too.
I had a quiet afternoon. My breakfast was quite late, but I still had to have lunch! I enjoyed it and watched an episode of The Good Fight. It was an interesting one with Rob Reiner as the judge in it. That made me really sad, but happy to see him again.
F called around 5:30 so I went downstairs around 6pm to start dinner. Tonight we had chicken drumsticks done in the air fryer, steamed veggies, salad, potato salad and rice. Most of dinner disappeared, so that’s good!
Afterwards, I cleared the table and then did the dishes. I listened to my podcasts while I was working so it was good for me!
When I finished, I let F know I was going upstairs to change. A few minutes later, we were outside and he was clearing off the car again. Oh no. The snow was quite deep outside. F had been home for 3 hours at that time.
We drove to Mina, the grocery store and F helped me put the old meat trays and the juice cartons in to be recycled. Then he went back to the car and I did the shopping. I didn’t get much at the grocery store, just a few things for tomorrow’s breakfasts and dinner.
On the way back to the house we made another stop. Our local drugstore had closed in October I think for renovations, well, today they reopened. It was more of a rebuild than a renovation as the old drugstore was torn down and completely rebuilt. It was nice inside! F and I toured the store a bit and got some snacks and I found a new kind of tea that I haven’t seen before. It is a mikan rooibos. I made myself a cup tonight and it was lovely. I told F I liked it and he asked for some too! I made him some as I’m so darn nice!
We came back to the house and relaxed. I watched an episode of Evil and it was a bit scary tonight, plus an episode of The Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy. Tonight he was in Vienna going to a ball. It was interesting, but I’d rather have seen more of Vienna!
I turned off the water downstairs after midnight and also filled up the kerosene tank in our heater. I brought the tank upstairs. I maybe could have run it until I go to bed, but even if I did, my first chore tomorrow would be to fill it up, so I’d rather do it tonight!
F has long gone to bed and honestly, I should get there too. I’m a tad worried that he might need help with the snow tomorrow, so I should try and get a lot of sleep.
