Friday - Cold and snowy
I slept in again today, I originally woke up before my alarm though, but only by a few minutes. I went downstairs and then came back upstairs. I sorted my laundry and then went back to sleep for a while.
When I got up, I took my laundry downstairs, started the first load in the machine and then girded up my loins (and all the other parts) to go outside to the snow. I was outside for about 30 minutes and I did manage to clear a lot of snow. The snowplough had gone through a little earlier, so I moved the small wall it had made. The part near the door that I had cleared got covered over, the snow was coming down that fast. I was freezing and my fingers were really cold. All of a sudden, it stopped snowing and the sun came out and it was gorgeous! It even warmed up a bit too!
I went back inside and scared K a little. She must have felt me banging my boots on the steps to get the snow off them. I think K scared me too as I didn’t expect to see her there!
I came inside and a few minutes later swapped my laundry over. I took my clean clothes upstairs and hung them up, then went back for my breakfast. I came upstairs and ate.
A bit later I went downstairs to make my lunch. I also set the heater in the kitchen to turn on right away. It is so cold that it takes ages for the kitchen to get anywhere near warm.
I ate my lunch and today watched an episode of Elsbeth. Alan Ruck was in it today and it was a good episode really.
F called around 5:30 to say he was on his way back. I got ready and went downstairs to the kitchen just before 6. I got things ready in the kitchen. F was a little late because he stopped at a grocery store to get his mother’s breakfast for tomorrow.
Dinner tonight was okay. We had cut bacon, salad, and pasta with a lemon-olive oil sauce. F and K also had some mini-tomatoes which disappeared!
I did the dishes after dinner and then went upstairs to relax when I was done. After 10 I went downstairs to take a shower and it was blooming cold! I didn’t want to take my clothes off, but it is a little difficult to take a shower in a winter coat!
I came back upstairs after turning off the water and watched an episode of The Great British Sewing Bee. It was an episode I saw before, probably on NHK or something.
F went to bed fairly early and I really need to get there soon too. We’ve got a doctor appointment in the morning and so I need to get up and be a reasonable person in the morning!
