Wednesday - Sunny and warm

A good day. I didn’t go out this morning. I had planned to go and had even done a lot of my computer stuff last night so that I could go, but I was so tired that I said to heck with it and stayed home.

I had a quiet early part of the day and then made myself some lunch. I finished up the fake crab and had some sausages. Nice.

I couldn’t find anything on the telly that I wanted to watch for a while so I put on a couple of episodes of Brisco County Jr. It is so supremely silly and fun that it made the time zoom by. I especially loved the episode with the Past Elvis. I always wonder how Bruce Campbell manages to keep his face straight at times in that show.

I ended up watching Private Practice and then I went out to the apartment lobby and did some sweeping. It’s amazing how dirty it gets, and how quickly. I got it looking decent and then came back inside and did a bit of darning on my shawl.

F came home and we went out again fairly soon after he arrived. We had a lot of things to do. First up we went to the electronics store to get more ink for his printer, then we went to a convenience store to send off a package to a friend of mine. After that, we went for dinner. I suggested Cafe Framboise, so that’s where we ended up.

We were the only customers, although some people left just as we arrived. I had carbonara for the first time there and it was really nice. I would have it again. F had the Japanese set menu. His was nice but a little small. We had tea and dessert too.

We came home via the grocery store, but not our usual one. I asked that we go to another branch that was on our way. I picked up something that I’ve been looking for. Kabocha croquettes. I had them when I first came to Japan, loved them, but our supermarket doesn’t stock them! F doesn’t really like croquettes, but that’s too bad for him.

Tomorrow night our menu looks a bit like ginger pork, salad with added in celery, and maybe croquettes or hash brown potatoes. We’ll see what goes over better.

We had a fairly quiet evening in. F did his printing finally and when I had done enough on my computer, I came over to the couch and finished darning in the ends on my shawl. Yay. I just have to block it now, but I’m not sure how much I can do of that.

I spent a few minutes more at my computer and found a pattern for a doily. It shouldn’t take too long I hope so I’ve started that too. It looks pretty so far. I’m on row 8 I think, it’s still very small though.

We watched How to Steal A Million tonight with Audrey Hepburn and Peter O’Toole. I think I’d seen it before, but it was a fun movie. It was a fine movie to crochet through.

On a sad note, the mother of one of the bloggers I always read died today. It brings back a lot of feelings for me about the times when my mother and my father died, so a bit of a reflective day.

Got to go. Talk to you tomorrow I hope. Night.

I know! It is too hot already and it seemed to happen overnight. I'm already using my air conditioner at my school as I can't get a through breeze.

Thanks for commenting. Missed you!
