Postcrossing - Incoming

To April 23, 2012

The more postcards I send, the more I receive.  I've had a good week again and have received 10 since my last update.  I don't have time to post all of them, so in the future would you readers like to see them all, or would you like me to show only a select few of the cards I get?

On with the show!

San Francisco's Cable Cars

The first card was sent by Grace from the US.  I think she must have quoted a fortune cookie because what she wrote was rather odd! She wrote, "You are a winner! You can make a big difference! You will go far in life !"  A bit strange, but not boring at least!

This is from Belarus and was sent by Tatsiana.  She lives in Minsk and writes that her favourite films are Finding Neverland, Deadman, Lord of the Rings and Legends of the Fall.  The last one isn't a favourite of mine, but it was filmed in Alberta and BC so I love looking at it!

From Dusseldorf Germany comes this card showing the Schloss Benrath.  Norbert writes that this cards shows the most beautiful palace in his town.  He sends his greetings from the West of Germany.

Anita in Austria sent this picture of a lady that probably doesn't need any introduction.  She wrote that she has been to Alberta and she enjoyed it very much.  She wishes me a wonderful spring.

Marilyn Monroe

I was quite happy to receive my first Gotochi card in the mail.  I have a few that I've bought, but no one has ever sent one to me before!

This came from Yoko in the southern part of Japan.  She was also the lady that sent Postcrossing's 10 millionth card, so I feel honoured to receive one from her! She wrote in Japanese, but said that she has been to Tsuruoka and this area before and liked it a lot.

Kushi-katsu

My final card for now is from Katya in Russia.  She sent me a movie card from Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows.  I saw this film a few weeks before it arrived so I'm quite pleased with the card.

There you are.  Six very interesting cards.  Stay tuned for more as I get time to upload them!

Great cards! I got my first on the day before yesterday. That was exciting! I still have 2 from the first time I sent cards...they are still traveling after 16 days :-(
Russia and Belarus...so far I've sent 8 cards -three were registered. I hope the other s make it soon! I'm always on the lookout for postcards now when I go shopping! If you ever want to do a private swap let me know! :)
I probably won't swap privately with people on the site, I've read that many people don't get their cards...but I would swap with you-maybe one of our Gotochi cards? I saw them at our post office. Anyhow...no pressure -if ever you want to do that let me know! I'm enjoying postcrossings a lot! Can't wait till I "get rolling"...lol

Thank you! These are good cards. I have a few more, but wanted to break them up.

Sometimes Russia and China and Belarus take a long time to arrive. Hopefully yours will arrive sooner rather than later.

If the other person sends the cards to you first (if they asked for the swap) it's probably okay to make a swap. I did a couple when I first joined up, but haven't done any lately.

Have you have anyone ask you for gotochi cards? My DH and I always get letters begging for the cards. They are usually from China. If you'd like to do a swap I'm up for that. I won't be able to get any for a few days as I'm going out of town, but maybe the second week in May I can pick up some cards at the post office. Do you know which ones you'd like?

We can talk about that by email I think!

Anyway, thanks for commenting :-)

Today I was at the post office and saw some gotochi cards. I was oblivious to them until reading about them here. I got a Chiba peanut one to mail to you, unless that is already one you have. Let me know when you get time. I'm not a post crossing person, but I thought you might like it.

Ooh! Yes please! I bought a lot of them this weekend, so I have even more. I'm not even sending them out to people, I just want to collect them!

Ok. I'll get it off as soon as I can. Do you want it in an envelope so it's pristine or just mailed. Those cards are ¥120 to mail so either way it's about the same cost.
