Tuesday - Sunny but cool

When I went to bed last night, F woke up. I think he spent rather a long time on his computer before he finally went to sleep. I had a good night’s sleep basically though.

In the morning F left for work and I snoozed more. I had a good morning, it was very quiet though. I did take a nap in the early afternoon, I couldn’t keep my eyes open, but felt much better afterwards.

I finally got stuck into my lesson planning and did a little bit. I’m basically planned up till Friday.  On Thursday I’ll plan for Monday, that kind of thing.

Around 5 today I went downstairs and started getting things in the kitchen ready to cook.  I had decided that I would make tuna salad to have on crackers, scrambled eggs with the leftover sausages from yesterday, a bit of salad and some miso soup. K and F both had rice with theirs, I didn’t need it. It all worked out except I couldn’t start cooking the scrambled eggs until F got back because who wants cold eggs?

Dinner was fairly simple but quite good. It didn’t seem too heavy and came together quite nicely. I did as F to help me do a few things and he mostly did very well!  He heated up the rice and made the soup, he took things out to the table for me.

After dinner F washed the dishes, I dried them and then we went out to buy groceries. I’ll most likely cook tomorrow night as I should be back early enough to have a little break first.

We got a few things in the grocery store and then did a quick run to the drug store. I didn’t get my hair cut and it keeps falling in my eyes, so I got a bit of hairspray. I hope I can keep it out of my face. I’ll have to wear a mask at work, so between that and my hair, no one will know what I look like if I don’t!

We came back to the house and had a quiet night in. I had some tea and watched a bit of TV, F watched stuff on his phone. We both took showers and I watched a bit more TV.

Tomorrow will be the first time I’ve taught this year. It’s been a while but I’m looking forward to it and sort of dreading it at the same time! It should be okay.

If you want to hear how it goes generally, come back later. Until tomorrow….

Random question: are you guys impacted by the coronavirus at all? Have you started stockpiling food and other stuff (toilet paper)?

So far, for us, it hasn't been a big change in our lives. Luckily we went to Costco and picked up some Toilet Paper just before the rush set in. We can't get masks in the shops at the moment, they are all sold out. I usually try and keep a few extra food things around so that hasn't been a problem yet.

For me, with teaching a few classes this month, I've been asked to wear a mask while teaching. I did that today. Some of the classes I was going to teach have been cancelled for a couple of weeks. I understand it, but I am quite sad about it all.

If we had children we might be more affected because they'd likely be off school at the moment.

How about you? Have you been affected by Covid-19?

I live in Tennessee, U.S.A., and so far haven't been affected but it may change any time. There are reports of new cases each time I turn TV on! The West Coast seems to have the greatest problem and several older people died. On the East Coast, a university cancelled classes- I think in the New York area- because one student tested positive for the virus and they tried to prevent the spread.
The bug may take a few days to get to Tennessee since we are not exactly a metropolis here...
So far, no shortage of toilet paper in the store!

Too bad they cancelled your classes- bummer.
Take care!

I do worry though because in a month I am supposed to go to Europe to visit my family and I am afraid they are going to close the borders or quarantine all the people for who knows how long, and that I will get stuck SOMEWHERE for weeks!

Yes, that would be a problem. Even if you are allowed to travel, would you have to be in quarantine on both ends? I have family members who are planning big trips this year, but are in the same boat as you are...not knowing if they'll be allowed to travel or if it is a wise idea to do so.

I hope you are given some answers soon! Good luck with everything!
