Friday - Sunny but somehow a bit muggy.

I went to bed late last night and didn’t get up terribly early today either. I got up, watched the news and then took a nap.  I got dressed a little later.

I had a quiet morning, but I did get a text from F asking me to call him later on. I was wondering what was up.

I had breakfast and watched a couple of shows off the DVR. I started watching Suits, but called F as he had asked. He told me that he was thinking about coming home.  He arrived home in the middle of my show.

We went out for lunch to Kula Sushi. They have the whole social distancing thing going on and half of the tables are blocked off. They also didn’t have food going around on the conveyor belt, it was all ordered food. I didn’t mind it, except the onion rings that we had were undercooked and really greasy. Bleck.

After our meal, we went to the nearby drugstore looking for masks or soap and not finding either. We picked up a couple of small things then came back to the house. We headed upstairs. I spent time on my computer watching the news. F was downstairs for a while.

Around 6 pm I went downstairs to start dinner. I told F that I’d need his help later on. He was watching something on his computer and snoozing too.

I got busy in the kitchen. I fried some mushrooms, I cut up the baguette that F had brought back with him. Earlier I had put the butter on the table to warm up, but someone had thoughtfully put it away again. Grr. To be fair, I hadn’t told K I was going to use it, but still!  I got things prepped and when I could I put it on the table. K was in bed too and there were no lights in the living room.

I got to the point where I needed F’s help so I telephoned him and got his answering machine! I stuck my head out of the kitchen and tried calling him. Nothing. The meat was frying, the eggs too and the rice needed putting in the bowls. I had to do it all. The eggs got a bit overcooked, but other than that, things worked out. We had half of the baguette with butter for dinner, plus Gapao rice, fried mushrooms and salad on the side. Everything disappeared, more or less. Oh, there were some mushrooms left. They were yummy on the bread!

F came down a bit after I went looking for him. His phone was on manner mode apparently. He did seem apologetic about missing out on helping me.

After dinner, F washed the dishes, I dried them. I cleaned the stovetop afterwards too. I went upstairs, F disappeared as he often does.

I came upstairs and relaxed and made some tea. Around 11 I took a shower and then sliced the rest of the baguette and buttered it. F and I shared it and it was amazing. Such a simple pleasure, bread and butter.

And that’s about it for my evening/day. It was better than I thought it would be, so let’s hope that it is a good start to our Golden Week. F is mostly off work and we have 5 days together where we aren’t going anywhere and have absolutely no plans at all. Wish us luck!

Come back later if you like and see how Saturday goes. Until tomorrow….

Isn't bread and butter just the thing sometimes? It can be so comforting.

What a Golden Week! But it sounds like you're keeping busy even though you can't get away from the usual scene. I hope the weather is nice enough that you can take a few turns around the park at least!

Take care and stay well!

Thank you for visiting! Yes, my mother had said that she thought she could live on bread and butter and I know what she meant. The variations of bread would keep it from getting boring!

I hope we'll go for a few drives or go to places that aren't crowded...the park might work a bit too.

Onwards to the first day of GW!
