Wednesday - Rainy and windy all-day

I woke up this morning but really didn’t want to get up. I was in bed a little longer than I should have been, but it wasn’t that late!

I watched the news and then had a little snooze. I got up a bit later, went downstairs and grabbed my breakfast.

I came back upstairs, watched a bit of YouTube and relaxed a bit. During the day I watched some TV too, I caught the last bit of a Natalie Portman film but it wasn’t that great.

For lunch, I had some of the leftover taco fixings. K wasn’t around or I would have made some for her too. I took my lunch and went upstairs.

F texted me during the day to say that he’d be a bit late today. He was, but not terribly late.

In the afternoon I did up my paperwork from yesterday and also planned a new lesson for one of the classes. I have a plan already for another class, so I will just refresh my memory of it on Monday probably.

I watched the news and then looked for some recipes for dinner tonight and tomorrow night. I found one for tonight for baked honey mustard chicken. I should have read it a little more closely as I didn’t notice that the chicken should bake for around an hour!

Anyway, I went downstairs and planned to bake the chicken first, but then I realized that I really should microwave the potatoes first!  I quickly prepared the potatoes, microwaved them and then got the chicken’s marinade done and got the chicken into the oven. Whew.

Dinner was quite late tonight, but it was amazing, even if I say so myself! We had the honey mustard chicken, pan-fried potatoes that were nice and crispy, anchovy fried cabbage and also baby leaf lettuce salad. I put out some smoky pickles as well. A lot of dinner disappeared. It was really good. I kept back a couple of chicken drumsticks for K and me tomorrow, and there were a few bits of potato left.

I did the dishes and it took forever! I didn’t get out of the kitchen until after 9 pm. It was closer to 9:30 if I’m honest. I was exhausted!  I usually take a shower tonight but I decided to skip it as I was just too tired to think about it.

I came upstairs and told F that I would like to get a dishwasher because I don’t get any help with the dishes. It took so long tonight. F had the nerve to tell me that he wouldn’t help me with the dishes because I took too long to do them. Huh? That’s why I need help. Mind you, his idea of help is to scrub my Teflon stir-fry pan with a harsh scrubber so maybe I don’t need his help anyway. I think I just need to simplify my meals for them. I think I’ve been trying too hard lately.

I watched Grey’s Anatomy tonight and finished crocheting the scarf I’ve been making for F. Now I have to darn in the loose ends and then he wants me to sew the edges together to make it into a loop. I’m not sure that I think it is a good idea, but he might not lose it this way. He lost the last two that I made for him. Sigh.

Anyway, that’s about it for me. Tomorrow I need to get stuck into my column. I have started it, but I need to really get to work.

Come back later if you will and hear about my Thursday. Until tomorrow….

Hi Helen. Just waned to say a belated congratulations on 20 years! Two decades, wow.

All the best.

Thanks! I complain about F a lot, but most of the time he's very nice.

Ah, that's great to hear!

I've actually always wanted to meet him, lol. He's like the intriguing side character you get glimpses of whose life into. I hope you two have many good years together.
