Tuesday - Cooler and overcast
I woke up before my alarm this morning but also after F left the room. I got up, went downstairs and then came back and turned on the TV so I could see the BBC news at 8 am. I watched the news and then went back to bed for a while. I got up a bit later.
I grabbed my breakfast. I was thinking about doing a load of laundry, but I heard that K was downstairs and was using the machine. No worries. I didn’t really want to do it anyway!
I had a quiet late morning and afternoon. I watched too much YouTube and relaxed a bit. I grabbed lunch and came back upstairs and watched the news before putting on an episode of Bake-Off. I’m running out of episodes which is very sad for me.
I worked a little bit on my blanket today and darned in a few ends. I’ll have rather a lot of them to do in the next few days I think.
I waited for F to call and he finally did call as I was getting ready to go downstairs. I went downstairs and worked on dinner.
Tonight I made roasted veggies and sausages in my air fryer. We also had salad and a spicy cucumber dish. I microwaved the potatoes before putting them into the air fryer. It meant that they didn’t have to roast so long and were cooked a little quicker. It worked really well today.
I got dinner on the table around 7pm. F came downstairs but didn’t come to the table right away. I put food on my plate and started to eat. K just stared at me but finally did go and get ready for dinner. I was doing a second batch of veggies so I had to go and stir things around every few minutes. F finally came and we ate. Dinner got pretty good reviews and I think it was good!
After dinner, I took the dishes to the kitchen and washed them. It didn’t take too long for a change, so that was good. I listened to my podcasts and enjoyed myself as usual.
When I finished, I said goodnight to K and then went upstairs. I relaxed for a while but when F finally came upstairs I got dressed and ready to go out.
We went to Mina, the grocery store nearby and I bought a few things for meals for the next few days. I got drinks for F and me and I picked up a packet of spices for fried rice. When I went back to the car, I, unfortunately, started talking about the fried rice and I mentioned that usually where I’m from we don’t use fresh rice, we usually dry it in the fridge overnight if we have time. Well, apparently I’ve been doing it wrong my entire life and so has everyone else outside Japan! I got to the point where I just hid the seasoning packet when I got into the kitchen. I have no wish to even bring up the topic around him again. Ack.
After I put the dishes away I went upstairs and spent time with my computer. At 11 pm I watched FBI: Most Wanted and then put music on so that I could record Yellowstone.
And that’s about it. I’m up to date now. Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….

That's interesting about the fried rice. My husband does it the same way as you do, he always puts it in the fridge overnight so it's a bit drier. I love the packets of spice for fried rice too, especially the one with the ebi.
To be honest, I rarely make fried rice, but I've watched a lot of videos and read a lot of recipes and they all say not to use fresh rice.
Yay that your husband does it the way I would! My DH has a lot of funny ideas about things and there's no convincing him he's wrong or misinformed!
Thanks for visiting and commenting too.
