Tuesday - Snowy and cold all day
I woke up this morning when F was preparing to leave for work. I did manage to stay mostly asleep. When my alarm went off, I woke up. I went downstairs and then came back to the room. I did go back to bed for a couple of hours and finally dragged myself out of bed and got dressed. I went downstairs and then went outside and shovelled a little bit of snow. It didn’t take too long to get the parking area cleaned up.
I came inside and then prepared my breakfast. I took it upstairs and ate. I also ended up watching Bohemian Rhapsody again. It was fun. I know it’s been derided a lot especially lately, but the music is great and Rami Malek does a pretty good job. I did have to go downstairs and grab my lunch. I brought it back upstairs and ate.
F called around 5:30 and I nearly missed his call. My phone didn’t seem to ring properly. I went downstairs and started to work on dinner.
Tonight I didn’t do much cooking. I heated up some retort curry and also some hamburgers from the freezer. They were all going to expire in the next few days, so I decided I’d use them up tonight. We didn’t have enough rice, so I also used bachelor pack rice for dinner! The cooking part was a side dish I made of mushrooms and cabbage. I liked it!
Dinner was quite good. F had extra rice, but K and I didn’t. I had some of my mushroom/cabbage stir-fry and salad. I cleared the table and then we had the last of F’s cake from last night. It was good!
I did the dishes, K went to bed and then F and I went out to the grocery store. We went to Mina and F picked up rice. He drove me a little nuts as he was always either underfoot or really far away from me! Still, we got the shopping done.
We came back to the house. F went in and I did a little snow shovelling. I’m sure it was a waste of time, but it did make me feel better. F had put some of the groceries away for me. I checked if he did it okay and while I did have to move a couple of things, it was quite helpful.
We came upstairs and relaxed. At 11pm I watched FBI: Most Wanted. It was about a bomber and was quite good. I turned off the TV and then asked F if he wanted to open our presents tonight or not. He said he did.
We opened each other’s surprise gifts and then the big box from my sister and her family. We both did rather nicely! I got a lovely robe from my sister which I’m wearing as I write. It is lovely and snuggly and warm. I also got some rainbow yarn and some tension rings for crocheting. They help you keep the yarn flowing or something. I’ve never used them before, I’ll have to try later.
And that was my day. It was a nice precursor to Christmas Day. Tomorrow should be quiet and then I hope to make a nice nibbly dinner for the three of us.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….

Merry Christmas, Helen.
It's almost 2pm on Christmas Eve here in Massachusetts and I have just a few more presents to wrap for my granddaughters. We'll be getting together on Christmas day at one of my daughter's house about an hour and a half from where I live. We had about an inch of snow this morning and the weather is reasonably good for the next few days.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I enjoy reading your blog every day.
All the best to you for the holidays and 2025.
Gladys
